Happy Birthday Heather!
This past Friday was Heather's Birthday. Matt, Mackenzie and I drove to South Carolina in an attempt to surprise her. I really didn't think we pulled it off since earlier in the week she had quizzed me about whether or not we were trying to pull off the surprise. I guess I threw her off because she was so surprised to see us that she started crying! It was a great weekend of celebrating and my brother in law Dustin did an amazing job planning a special weekend for her. I didn't take too many pictures while we were there but I did get this great shot of the two of them. Happy Bday Sis!

Hiding
One of Mackenzie's favorite games right now is hiding. This past weekend she ran into a corner in our dining room and said "I Hiding" (she learned that from her cousin Sophie). She has been saying more and more words every day. Here are a few others that we have been hearing; I do it, thank you, ouch, mine, who's that, what's that, Abby (my Sister's dog), Soph (for Sophie), Nana, Grandad usually pronouned Gandad, and of course Mommy and Daddy. She's also been trying to sing the verse to "Ring around the Rosie", all you can really understand is "ashes, ashes" but it's so sweet to hear her try to sing the whole thing!
I see you!

I don't think anyone can see me back here

These boots are made for walking...
Mackenzie found these boots in a bag of clothes that my Sister sent down to us. She had to put them on right away and hasn't wanted to take them off! They are still way too big, but now I know in the fall when it rains she will have some cute rain boots! Thanks Aunt Heather!
P.S. Mackenzie tends to escape quickly after diaper changes which is why she is usually running around the house with no pants on :)

NKOTB Rocks!
Dance video....take 1000! Mackenzie LOVES the new NKOTB song, check out her sweet moves! (P.S. after we took this video Matt tried to dance with her and she got so mad that she screamed DAD and banged her head on her little table. I'm still not sure what to do about the head banging, any suggestions??? Our baby can have a TEMPER!).

It figures....
Matt and I bought Mackenzie the sweetest iron children's bench at Cityfest this year. Mackenzie loves it, but hasn't wanted to sit on it without a cushion. She actually goes to our other patio furniture, takes the cushion off of one of those chairs and puts it on her little bench before she will sit on it (I know, prissy right!). I finally got a cushion custom made for her bench and picked it up today and brought it home thinking she would be so happy that she had a cushion for her little bench. It figures that she had a total tantrum because she didn't want to sit on it and I had to give her a cookie in an attempt to get a cute picture. Kids are always full of surprises.....it figures.....

Carolina Girls
This past weekend I got together with several of my best girlfriends from Clemson. We all gathered together from North Carolina, South Carolina, Massachusetts, Texas and me from Alabama. We spent a fabulous weekend jet skiing, boating, and enjoying the water at Lake Keowee. Being in upstate South Carolina really made me feel like I was home for a short time and it also made me realize how much I miss my sweet friends. Where do you think we should meet up next time girls.....some place the fish don't bite (I know, these things only happen to me)....

Happy Birthday Barrett
Yesterday we went to Barrett Galimore's 1st Birthday party. It was so fun and the kids had a blast having ice cream and riding the train around. Mackenzie loved the train and kept saying "wow"!!

Holiday Weekend
This weekend Heather, Dustin and Sophie came for the weekend. We had a great weekend hanging out at the pool and watching the kids play. They are just so cute together! Here's a picture of them having a snack. Matt ran over to Kmart and got a little table and chair set for them. We only had one baby lawn chair and there was a major tug-of-war going on over that so we decided we better invest in some more seats. These are so cute and they are low enough to the ground that Mackenzie can get in and out of them without any help. (If anyone wants a set they are 30% off at Kmart, you can get the 3 pieces for $17).

The karaoke machine is always a hit with the kids, although hearing this one song over and over again made all the adults want ear plugs. Here's the latest dance party video....

Oh, the Drama...
Meal time lately has been total drama. Mackenzie refuses to let us help her eat at all! As a result of this if she is making a HUGE mess and when we step in to try and help the situation she has a complete meltdown. You can see the tears in this picture, she was also ripping the barrette out of her hair just to let me know exactly how mad she really was. She went to the Doctor yesterday for her 15 month check up and she was 3 inches taller but hadn't gained a pound. I'm sure it's because she won't hardly eat anything and because she runs everywhere she goes. Dr. Young told me not to worry though that kids at this age just don't eat that well. I hope she gets the hang of eating with a fork down a little better soon, at least that way a little more food will end up in her mouth rather than on my floor and walls!
