Birthday Party
Today we finally had Mackenzie's Birthday party. It was originally postponed because she had been sick. We rescheduled it for this weekend, unfortunatly, my Sister and her family weren't able to come because my neice Sophie is sick. We really missed them so much today. Mackenzie had a great time at her party, it was wonderful that my parents were able to make it along with our close friends the Wilson's and Samantha Newcomb. Mackenzie had a blast opening gifts. She opened a few up this morning before it got to be party time. By the end of the day she was so tired that she was asleep before she hit the sheets.
I am still reflecting back on the past year, it amazes me how quickly the year has gone by. She is growing into such a special young girl, I can't believe that she is no longer a "baby" but now she is a "toddler". It makes me sad that she is growing up so fast, but we are so excited about what is to come next!

Easter Sunday
Matt, Mackenzie and I really enjoyed our Easter Sunday. Our day started off with Mackenzie waking up and digging into her Easter basket and opening her gifts from her Grandparents. Then, we headed off to church and then home for a big dinner. I was really hoping to have some pictures of Mackenzie in her Easter dress, but after a minor meltdown in church she went straight down for a nap when we got home and we missed our opportunity! Better luck next year....

The Montgomery Zoo
Matt's Birthday is next weekend, but since Mackenzie's Birthday party got pushed back to next weekend we decided to celebrate Matt's big 35 today. All he's been asking for is a day that we can go and do something fun as a family, so I planned a day at the zoo. After Mackenzie got up from her morning nap we drove to Montgomery, had a fantastic picnic and visited the zoo. We had a great time, by the time we left Mackenzie was so tired that she fell asleep on the way back, we ended up driving around Auburn for what seemed like forever until she finally woke up!

Feeling better.....we hope....
Yesterday was a really scary day for Matt and I as parents. Mackenzie has still been feeling terrible with the stomach flu so we decided it was time to stop talking to nurse's at the Pediatric Clinic and take her in. When we got there the Doctor we saw told us Mackenzie may have a blockage in her intestines and rushed us over to EAMC for tests. It was horrible!! Mackenzie made it through the tests (hopefully she's not too traumatized!). Last night the Doctor finally called us and said that the preliminary test results indicated she was fine and that she probably has Rotavirus (even though she had the vaccine). Our poor girl has been sick now for 9 days. Today was the first day that she seemed to be on the right track. Please say a prayer for her that she is finally over this sickness. She was so brave yesterday, but I hope we never have to go through anything like that ever again.

She has a lot to say...
We know she is going to kill us one day for putting pictures of her on our blog when she is in the tub taking a bath, but we couldn't help ourselves :)

The Calm Before the Storm
For those of you who don't know, Mackenzie has had a stomach virus since last Friday. She has been so sick and miserable that at times Matt and I just simple didn't know what to do at all to make her feel better. Finally, today she started smiling, laughing and playing again. We were so thankful she was feeling better that we set up her pack and play up outside on our screened porch and let her enjoy the beautiful day. She also really wanted one of the carrots that Matt and I were eating. Because she had kept her food down all day we thought it would be alright to give her one (big mistake). She was so happy while eating her carrot we decided to take a few pictures to celebrate her finally feeling better. Unfortunatly for us, this was the Calm Before the Storm. Right after she ate the carrot she started throwing up again and was pretty much completely miserable until she went to bed. We hope tomorrow will be a better day, we are both getting completely depressed that she has been so sick for so long. On a side note, she does have a new favorite word. I asked her tonight if she was ready to go to bed, she emphatically replied "NO, NO, NO"....

Frog Chair
Today we discovered that Mackenzie is cutting more teeth! She was acting like she wasn't feeling that well and she was drooling a lot so we checked and we couldn't believe it. How many teeth can a little baby have!? To help her feel better Matt and I decided to go ahead and give her one of the gifts we got for her Birthday which is in just a few weeks. She loves her new frog chair. I hope she will spend lots of time giving it hugs and sitting in it reading books.

Playing at the Park
Stirling and Mackenzie had a great time this afternoon at Town Creek Park. It was such a beautiful day that Ali and I just had to take them to enjoy the outdoors. I am sure the cold weather will be back soon, but I can still hope that we have more of these 75 degree days!

Our Weekend in Greenville
This weekend we went to South Carolina to FINALLY celebrate our niece Sophie's Birthday. We have attempted to go for the past three weeks but Mackenzie was having trouble getting over her cold/ear infection so the trip hasn't been possible. We had a great time being with our family and Sophie and Mackenzie always have such a good time together. I took a ton of pictures this weekend. Here are just a few...
