The Big Introduction

Today Mackenzie got to meet her sweet little brother. Matt and I wanted to wait a couple of days before bringing her to the hospital so I would be feeling a little better and we could enjoy the moment as a family more. She was very curious about him and wanted to hold him right away and give him kisses. She loved his tiny toes and thought when he wiggled around he was so funny. I felt so blessed to see my two little angels together, words can't even express how happy we are that our family has grown.

We will try to post more pictures soon. We are scheduled to get out of the hospital tomorrow, Mackenzie is out trick or treating tonight with her Nana, Grandad, Aunt Heather, Uncle Dustin and Sophie. I'm hoping to have lots of pics to pass along of our little "kitty cat"....

Baby Ethan has arrived.

Ethan was born on the 29th at 12:50pm. He was 8lbs 4oz and 20 inches long. He is pretty alert and wants to eat all day long. Julie is doing good and we just got back from walking around the nursery. We are looking forward to a quick recovery and should be going home on Sunday.

I'm going to be a big sister this week!

Keep checking back to our blog this week for our big announcement. Our little Ethan will be born on Thursday at the latest. We are so excited to meet our little guy and we'll post pictures as soon as we can!

Pumpkin Carving

This was the first year Mackenzie got to help carve a pumpkin. She loved it and I think her favorite part was stirring the "guts" in a bowl. I don't have a picture of the finished product but every night she rushes to the front porch to see it lit up. She had such a good time we may have to go get another pumpkin so she can do it again!

Zoo Safari

Today Matt took Mackenzie and Dustin took Sophie to a zoo outing hosted by our church. The girls got to have a hot dog lunch and then see all the animals at the zoo. They even left with some new crayons and a coloring book that teaches them about all the animals in the bible. Here are some pictures from their outing, I think the girls had a great time!

Nivens Apple Farm

Today Matt took Mackenzie to Nivens Apple Farm for a little Father/Daughter bonding time. Matt just got back in town and my poor girl has been so bored around the house with her Mom and needed something fun to do. When she got home she told me all about her trip to the farm. She picked apples, got a pumpkin and came home with a jug of apple cider (although I know her Daddy really loves that more than Mackenzie).
I'm feeling more and more limited with what I'm able to do as I'm feeling pretty exhausted most of the time and can't stay on my feet much. Plus, my Doctor told me to keep Mackenzie out of school until I can get the swine flu vaccine since I'm so close to my due date and she is hoping the vaccine will be in next week. So this outing provided some MUCH needed fun for my girl! We are SOOO glad Daddy is back in town!!

She brought this little "punkin" home, it was her favorite!
