Matt took Mackenzie to see Sesame Street Live this past weekend. They had a great Daddy/Daughter date and Mackenzie loved the show. Thankfully she was finally feeling better and was able to make it. She enjoyed it that much more since she hadn't been out of the house in almost 2 weeks because she has been so sick!

Baking with Grandma
One of Mackenzie's favorite things to do is bake and decorate cookies. She had a great time with her Grandma with holiday baking. They made a gingerbread house and some yummy cookies!

Catching Up
I haven't had a chance to blog lately because life has been a little hectic. We had a fantastic Thanksgiving, Matt's parents came down to visit from Minnesota and we spent a great week with them. However, at the end of their visit things started going downhill for our family and we have all ended up sick. Mackenzie got a virus that lasted well over a week and she gave it to our poor little guy. We had to take him to the emergency room and he ended up with a double ear infection. He has pretty much been sick since then although I'm praying things are finally starting to get a little bit better. He has had a tough time for such a little baby. Here are a a few pics from the last few weeks and what we've been up to....

Lots of pics
It's hard to believe that it's been 2 weeks since Ethan was born! We've spend the last couple of weeks trying to figure out how to juggle two children and it has been a huge adjustment! Thankfully, my Mom has been helping us out while I recover from my c-section and try to get some sort of a new routine started at our house. Mackenzie has been great with the baby, she loves him so much and Ethan is doing great with the exception of a bad diaper rash and sleeping all day and staying up all night! Here are some pics from the last 2 weeks....

Halloween
Matt and I missed trick or treating this year with Mackenzie because we were at the hospital with Ethan, but luckily Mackenzie had her Nana, Grandad, Auntie, Uncle and cousin Sophie to take her around our neighborhood. I think she had a great time! She was originally going to be a Clemson cheerleader but once she knew Sophie was going to be a kitty cat we had to change costumes. I knew there was no way she would want to be anything else except for what Sophie was going to be, although at one point all she said she wanted to dress up as was a dinosaur :)

Any Suggestions...
on how to get this little guy to sleep at night instead of during the day? He is making us so tired, but isn't he adorable?!!

The Big Introduction
Today Mackenzie got to meet her sweet little brother. Matt and I wanted to wait a couple of days before bringing her to the hospital so I would be feeling a little better and we could enjoy the moment as a family more. She was very curious about him and wanted to hold him right away and give him kisses. She loved his tiny toes and thought when he wiggled around he was so funny. I felt so blessed to see my two little angels together, words can't even express how happy we are that our family has grown.

Pumpkin Carving
This was the first year Mackenzie got to help carve a pumpkin. She loved it and I think her favorite part was stirring the "guts" in a bowl. I don't have a picture of the finished product but every night she rushes to the front porch to see it lit up. She had such a good time we may have to go get another pumpkin so she can do it again!

Zoo Safari
Today Matt took Mackenzie and Dustin took Sophie to a zoo outing hosted by our church. The girls got to have a hot dog lunch and then see all the animals at the zoo. They even left with some new crayons and a coloring book that teaches them about all the animals in the bible. Here are some pictures from their outing, I think the girls had a great time!

Nivens Apple Farm
Today Matt took Mackenzie to Nivens Apple Farm for a little Father/Daughter bonding time. Matt just got back in town and my poor girl has been so bored around the house with her Mom and needed something fun to do. When she got home she told me all about her trip to the farm. She picked apples, got a pumpkin and came home with a jug of apple cider (although I know her Daddy really loves that more than Mackenzie).
I'm feeling more and more limited with what I'm able to do as I'm feeling pretty exhausted most of the time and can't stay on my feet much. Plus, my Doctor told me to keep Mackenzie out of school until I can get the swine flu vaccine since I'm so close to my due date and she is hoping the vaccine will be in next week. So this outing provided some MUCH needed fun for my girl! We are SOOO glad Daddy is back in town!!
She brought this little "punkin" home, it was her favorite!

She loved the animals and said the little chicks looked like the Wonder Pets
