Today was such a beautiful day. We took Mackenzie over to Town Creek Park for a walk. I hope we have a lot more days like this....

The Door Game

Big Day

Yesterday Mackenzie took her first step! Some may call it more of a stumble but I was still really excited! Matt and I are on a mission this weekend to see if we can get her to do it again. Since I knew that I couldn't actually get a picture or video of her taking a step yet I thought I would still take some shots to document her big day!

No cell phone or remote control is safe in our house, I caught Mackenzie trying to sneak to get her hands on this one!!

Tiger

I haven't blogged much this week because Mackenzie has still been not feeling that great. Her ear infection is almost gone but she still has a cold and hasn't been sleeping well. Thankfully she has her little tiger blanket that helps bring her comfort when she is tired or not feeling that well. I'm not sure what we would do without it! It's so cute when we hand it to her or she finds it, she hugs it like she hasn't seen it in months and gets the biggest smile on her face. Hopefully it will help her out when the time comes that she won't have a pacifier anymore. That time is coming soon so I'm hoping that with her favorite blanky it won't be too much of an adjustment.

We love Veggie Tales

As I think every parent knows there are some times when kids can just be a little cranky. Late this afternoon was no exception in the Westra household. The only thing that seemed to make the little one happy was her Veggie Tales video which she has been obsessed with lately. As you can see, it wasn't even worth the battle to get her pants back on after a diaper change! I thought her little chubby legs were so cute though that I had to take a picture :)

On the mend!

Thank goodness our little girl is on the mend. She has been so sick this week with an ear infection. It has been a long time since Matt and I have had completely sleepness nights and a baby that just cannot be consoled. The antibiotics seem to be working and she is starting to smile and play again. I hope we don't have to go through this again for a long time....

The Georgia Aquarium

Matt's parents are visiting us this week from Minnesota. Matt and I thought it would be a great idea to take them on a day trip to Atlanta to visit the Georgia Aquarium. We had a really great day visiting the aquarium and when we were finished we took a walk around Centennial Park. Mackenzie was a trooper the whole day. She was so tired by the time we left that she fell asleep in her car seat before we got out of the parking garage. Here are some highlights from our day!

Two Peas in a Pod

Mackenzie had such a good time this past week with her cousin Sophie. I'm always amazed that at such young ages you can tell that they love each other so much. Mackenzie was right behind Sophie wherever she went and they are really learning to play well together. Here are some photos from their week together.
